The Regional Workshop on Biomass Energy Promotion for Inclusive and Sustainable Agriculture Development in ASEAN Region was held on 30 March 2021 in the hybrid configuration.
The Workshop was attended by representatives of ATWGARD focal points from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam. The representative from Brunei Darussalam and Singapore gave their apologies. Representatives from the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) was present. Additional regional and national stakeholders also attended from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the French Agricultural Research Center for International Development (CIRAD), SNV Netherlands Development Organization, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS), PMU focal points.
The Workshop was organized under the framework of the ATWGARD and the Project on Promotion of Biomass Energy for Agricultural Communities and Rural Development in ASEAN. The Project was funded by JAIF and Viet Nam was assigned to act as lead country of the project. The Workshop is one of the final activities aim to share global development orientations and advanced technologies of biomass energy, the results of pilot projects focusing on the challenges and lessons learnt, and regional strategies and policy recommendations.
